Schofield Barracks in Hawaii Locked Down Throughout Manhunt

A U.S. Army base in Hawaii was positioned underneath lockdown on Thursday afternoon as authorities looked for a person they believed to be armed with a handgun.

At about 2:30 p.m., an armed man wearing civilian clothes was confronted by a soldier on the Schofield Barracks on Oahu Island, based on Mike Donnelly, a spokesman for the U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii.

There have been unconfirmed reviews of photographs fired on the bottom and faculties on the bottom have been following lively shooter lockdown procedures, Mr. Donnelly stated.

A Honolulu Police Department SWAT workforce and army police have been sweeping the bottom for the suspect, who was described as a 5-foot-10 gentle skinned male in his 20s or 30s carrying a button-down Hawaiian shirt and blue denims with Nike sneakers, the authorities said.

The man had a mohawk-style haircut and was carrying a camouflage cross-body bag. He was final seen close to the bottom’s commissary at about 3:20 p.m., Mr. Donnelly stated.
