After The Beatles went mainstream, a lot of the music business started making an attempt to emulate them in a method or one other.

As the first songwriters for the Fab Four, John Lennon and Paul McCartney have been approached by numerous bands to assist them pen chart-topping hits over time.

But Lennon seen their skilled rivals, The Rolling Stones, have been making an attempt to maintain up with them greater than anybody else.

And ultimately, he known as the band’s frontman, Mick Jagger, out for mimicking their work.

Lennon advised Rolling Stone journal: “I would like to just list what we did and what the Stones did two months after on every f****ng album.”

Lennon went on so as to add: “Every f****ng thing we did, Mick does exactly the same – he imitates us.”

The Imagine singer was not the one individual in The Beatles to have seen the obvious similarities between the 2 bands.

George Harrison as soon as commented: “Mick Jagger was also there. He was always lurking around in the background, trying to find out what was happening. Mick never wanted to miss out on what the Fabs were doing.”

It’s no surprise Jagger needed to maintain an in depth eye on The Beatles, particularly after they’d helped The Rolling Stones discover a new model of success.

In the early Nineteen Sixties, Jagger turned acquainted with the Fab Four and ultimately bought an enormous track from them: I Wanna Be Your Man.

“We knew [the Beatles] by then,” Jagger remembered. “And we were rehearsing and Andrew brought Paul and John down to the rehearsal. They said they had this tune, they were really hustlers then. I mean, the way they used to hustle tunes was great.”

Lennon and McCartney advised the frontman: “Hey Mick, we’ve got this great song.” Jagger continued: “So they played it and we thought it sounded pretty commercial, which is what we were looking for, so we did it like Elmore James or something.

“I haven’t heard it for ages but it surely should be fairly freaky ’trigger no person actually produced it. It was fully crackers, but it surely was successful and sounded nice onstage.”

I Wanna Be Your Man reached quantity 12 within the UK singles charts, making it their highest-charting monitor ever.
