Chris Evans reveals he’s away from most cancers, eight weeks after prognosis

Radio presenter Chris Evans says he has obtained the “all-clear” after being identified with pores and skin most cancers two months in the past.

The 57-year-old shared an e-mail from his surgeon throughout his Virgin Radio present on Wednesday, earlier than telling co-presenters Vassos Alexander and Rachel Horne he was shocked he “lost a night’s sleep” over it.

Evans previously told listeners that he had a biopsy after finding an irregular mole on his leg, which got here again optimistic for melanoma.

“So we did, and that was last Thursday. And so, at quarter-to-four last Thursday, I had cancer and at quarter-to-five, I didn’t.

“And I simply discovered that out final evening. And that is as a result of time is your greatest weapon towards it, when you have an abundance of it, and its greatest weapon towards you when you have a scarcity of it.”

The former Top Gear host was later joined by fellow radio DJ Eddy Temple-Morris, with each stressing the significance of getting your self checked for most cancers.

Evans stated: “If you are apprehensive about something, simply keep in mind the truth that eight weeks in the past I used to be identified with most cancers and now I haven’t got it in any respect.

“And that’s why you just need to attend to things. And it’s really tough, because for years I was the guy who wouldn’t go anywhere near that. But you know, times have changed, thank God.”

Evans joined Virgin Radio in 2018, when he left the coveted BBC Radio 2 breakfast present, taking most of his manufacturing staff with him.

He had been a mainstay on the BBC, internet hosting The One Show and having a stint on Top Gear, having beforehand fronted Channel 4 exhibits TFI Friday and The Big Breakfast.
