Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania stated on Saturday he was “confident” the portion of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia that collapsed final weekend will open throughout the subsequent two weeks.

“We are going to get traffic moving again,” Mr. Shapiro stated on Twitter, crediting an “all hands on deck approach.” Initially, he had stated he anticipated the repairs to take months.

The crash on Sunday of a truck hauling gasoline led to a fireplace that left a piece of the northbound facet of the freeway in ruins and the southbound part so badly broken that it was demolished this week. Local officers are working with the federal authorities to rebuild the roadway.
